I enjoyed that the conversations were direct, challenging and that Ed was not afraid to ask the hard questions. Whilst working together we identified areas within the business which needed to be thought about from a 360-degree perspective. I was able to articulate clearer where we are currently, why this is the case, and what we want to do in order to achieve our strategic goals
Ed was friendly and easy to chat to. He made me feel relaxed and not judged which then made it easier to engage in the sessions. I now have a clearer idea about what I want to do in my future and steps to try and get there.
There was a tangible sense of progress at the end of each session – and an ability to use the ideas generated positively. I felt the sessions themselves were enjoyable in themselves also – the ability to pursue trains of thought with someone non-judgemental with no agenda was very helpful. The sessions gave me increased confidence in my own ability to tackle complex tasks
Ed helped me find some much-needed clarity during a very busy and high-pressure patch. He's a pleasure to deal with as a business coach (and as a human), and we had fantastic 'lightbulb' moments during every session. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
I trained with Ed on the ILM 7 Executive Coaching & Mentoring qulaification course over a period of 9 months from September 2018. As part of the training I have worked with Ed as a coach and as a coachee, and woudl highly recommend him as an executive coach. Ed has a very open style of coaching, is hugely empathetic, is a very good listener and is never afraid to ask challenging questions and hold his clients to account. Ed takes a very focussed approach to helping clients work towards their goals, as well as using his skill at building strong rapport to allow his clients to go deeper to really unpick why they might be stuck and what the underlying issues there might be to achieveing their goals. His background as a secondary school teacher makes him ideally suited to working through problems to find solutions in a patient but methodical way - at the same time never losing sight of the importance of staying very person-centred in his approach. I would highly recommend him as a leadership and executive coach & mentor.
Ed and I were part of a small group who did out executive coaching and mentoring training together. Part of the training required us to practise our coaching skills on each other. So, I was lucky enough to experience coaching from Ed first-hand and witnessed his dedication to becoming a highly-skilled coach. Behind his coaching expertise is a genuine desire to help people to grow and overcome the challenges they are faced with. He creates a feeling of safety and confidentiality when coaching others and successfully helps them to achieve their goals.
If you’re looking for a competent executive coach to help you progress or make some important changes to your working or personal life, I highly recommend Ed. I had the chance to be coached by Ed as we studied together the ILM 7 and I always found our sessions valuable, Ed has a great style and excellent listening skills, but he’s also sharp in his questioning which always made me think deeply and sometimes helped me to shift perspective on my situation, which was necessary for me to make progress. If you’re ready to work on yourself and make some changes to achieve your goals, Ed is your coach.
Ed has been a fantastic coach to me in the past. His calm and considerate manner as well as his listening skills really helped me to establish what my areas for development were. His questioning is supportive and created an environment whereby I could understand and establish my own next steps, a rare and highly valuable skill. I would strongly recommend Ed and hope to work with him again in the future.
I couldn’t recommend Ed’s services highly enough. He is approachable, professional and knowledgeable in his field and I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again. I used Ed in a business capacity but if you need focus or guidance in any aspect of your life, Ed is your man!
His organisational skills were exceptional - having been on numerous school trips (both in the UK and abroad), this was hugely apparent. He took into account every possible situation and by doing so, made every trip seemingly faultless. I would have loved to have worked with Ed as my manager - I know with his skills in coaching and developing people, we would have made an awesome team.
Working with Ed was a pleasure. Middle leadership within a school environment can be a testing role at times and Ed was a great person to have around. His calming nature coupled with his ability to help support colleagues through exploring plausible outcomes, in a range of circumstances, has been invaluable. Ed is personable and you’ll find conversations easily navigated as he guides and truly understands his style of coaching and honed these skills since developing his practice. I would recommend Ed to anyone who needs someone to help navigate, explore and soundboard ideas in their personal or professional life.
I had a session with Ed over the summer and was really impressed. I'd been dubious about coaching in the past and hadn't thought I'd see the value in it. But within that one session Ed was able to help me get my ducks in a row and a little more in control of the ship I was steering. Being a business owner can be quite a lonely exercise, particularly in "these unprecedented times." I really recommend a session with Ed if you're looking to rejuvenate momentum or figure out the priorities in your business and working lifestyle.
A good listener that understands your situation, who gives clear, balanced advice with practical tips, shared experiences, and empathy. All these things Ed has in volumes and is exactly what I would want from a business coach. With Ed’s educational and tutoring background, he also has a very good way of delivering the information so that you understand and can action it. A great mentor and asset for any business to have and I encourage you to get in touch with him.
